Southeast Environmental Conference

Tlingit & Haida’s Native Lands and Resources department is pleased to announce that the annual Southeast Environmental Conference will be held August 27-31, 2018 at the Vocational Training & Resource Center in Juneau, Alaska.

The Southeast Environmental Conference brings together Southeast tribes, natural resource professionals and others to learn about and address regional environmental priorities. This year’s conference theme is “Building Capacity to Preserve Our Way of Life”.

Southeast Alaska Back-to-School Backpack Distribution Event 

Tlingit & Haida's annual Southeast Alaska backpack event is underway. Backpacks filled with school supplies are being distributed to all Southeast Alaska communities (except Metlakatla). If you reside in Tlingit & Haida’s service area and have a child in preschool or a student in kindergarten through 12th grade, please contact the organization listed by your community (see link below) for the backpack distribution date.

Fatherhood Is Sacred Session

Please join the Fatherhood is Sacred® (FIS) program for its next 12-week session beginning August 16th at 5:00 PM in the Andrew Hope Buildling located (320 W Willoughby Avenue) in Juneau. The FIS program meets every Thursday (Aug. 16 - Nov. 8) and brings fathers together for fun activities and discussions designed to guide them in teaching and raising children to develop the potential and attributes needed for success in life. Dinner and child care are provided. There is no role in life more important than being a parent so please join us!
