Our Food is Our Way of Life Harvest

Join Tlingit & Haida’s Native Connections program during the month of July for community harvests to learn how to properly gather and process traditional foods of Southeast Alaska. The outings are family-oriented to foster healthy activities and transportation is available if needed.

Alaska Native Market

Tlingit & Haida and Goldbelt, Inc. are proud to partner in hosting an Alaska Native Market on July 14, 2018 from 10 AM to 4 PM in Juneau’s downtown Willoughby district! Admission is FREE and the market will be held in conjunction with the Goldbelt, Inc. annual shareholder meeting at Centennial Hall. While you're at the meeting, be sure to stop by the courtyard opposite the Juneau Arts and Culture Center (JACC) to check out all that the market has to offer!

Tribal Child Support - Ketchikan Community Outreach

Tribal Child Support staff will be in Ketchikan on Friday, July 27th (8AM to 4PM) to share information on TCSU's services. Please stop by and visit if you have questions about your child support case or are interested in learning more about TCSU's services!

Juneau Back to School Backpack Fair

Tlingit & Haida is hosting its Back to School Backpack Fair in Juneau, Alaska on Saturday, July 28, 2018. This annual event is just one way the Tribe can help ensure a great start to the school year for our tribal youth! In addition to giving away backpacks filled with general school supplies, the event will include snacks, door prizes, and a special presentation from a motivational speaker.

If you have a child in preschool or a student in kindergarten through 12th grade, please make sure to complete and submit the application by Friday, July 13, 2018 to receive a free backpack. Application for Juneau Residents

Southeast Alaska Back-to-School Backpack Event  Deadline Extended Until 7/13/18

Tlingit & Haida is gearing up for its annual Southeast Alaska backpack event. Backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed in all Southeast Alaska communities (except Metlakatla). If you reside in Tlingit & Haida’s service area and have a child in preschool or a student in kindergarten through 12th grade, please contact the organization listed by your community (see link below) to request an application.

Fatherhood Is Sacred

Please join Tlingit & Haida for its next 12-week session of the Fatherhood is Sacred® (FIS) program beginning April 26th at 5:30 PM at the TANF Office located (3075 Vintage Boulevard) in Juneau. The FIS program meets every Thursday (April 26-July 19) and brings fathers together for fun activities and discussions designed to guide them in teaching and raising children to develop the potential and attributes needed for success in life. Dinner and child care are provided. There is no role in life more important than being a parent so please join us!
