CARES Relief Programs - CARES Updates

Tlingit & Haida was pleased to offer Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Need-Based programs to tribal citizen households and tribal citizen small business owners impacted by the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Gunalchéesh, Ha’wáa, Thank you for your inquiry to Tlingit & Haida’s CARES Act Need-Based Programs. Although the program has closed to new applications, our staff is working hard to complete all pending online applications and elder application requests.

If you have recently emailed any supporting documents for your application to caresrelief@ccthita-nsn.gov, rest assured that our staff will get to your email in the order received. If you have called the CARES phone line at (907) 463-7788, your call has been tracked and our customer service team will return any messages in the order received.

If your online application was completed with supporting documentation, our staff is processing your application currently. Our CARES staff will send you a letter upon processing. If you provided accurate direct deposit information, you will receive a payment within 7 business days. If you opted for a check payment, please anticipate 10-14 business days to receive.

We are honored to serve our citizens during these unprecedented times.


For tribal citizens who have been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic but did not have a chance to apply for assistance under the Tribe’s CARES Act Need-Based programs, please note a new Rescue Relief program will be announced soon.
